The National Patient Safety Foundation has compiled a thorough bibliography of over 5500 relevant journal articles, news pieces, legal documents, and other materials. They also publish frequent updates listing current journal articles.
The Canadian Nurses’ Association has developed a Patient Safety Resource Guide, a searchable database containing hundreds of references related to patient safety.
The American Hospital Association’s patient safety bibliography offers regularly updated topic-specific lists of articles from journals, news media, and trade publications.
The Canadian Patient Safety Institute provides an annotated list of relevant reports from past years.
Advances in Patient Safety: From Research to Implementation is a set of 140 articles, compiled by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in 2005, on diverse aspects of patient safety. The four volumes cover research findings on safety issues, concepts and methodology in assessing patient safety, implementation of safety initiatives, and available tools and programs.
The Joint Commission International Center for Patient Safety hosts Patient Safety Practices, a web-based archive of over 500 links that you can search by category (various causes of adverse events, types of adverse events, and patient safety goals).
