Susan Lessard-Friesen is Deputy Registrar with the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association. The MPhA is the provincial regulatory authority for pharmacy and as such, the mandate of the MPhA is protection of the public in all matters related to the practice of pharmacy in the province.

Susan is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Manitoba and completed a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Over the years, she has practiced in Ontario and Manitoba in both hospital and community pharmacy settings and as a drug information consultant.

Susan first joined the MPhA in 1995 as Coordinator of the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Care Project. Later she assumed additional responsibilities as Director of the MPhA Professional Development Program and Assistant Registrar, where her primary responsibilities focused on continuing professional development for pharmacists. In 2010 Susan was appointed Deputy Registrar with the MPhA where she now oversees the MPhA Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement Program for pharmacists and pharmacies in this province.

Susan has had the pleasure of working with the Manitoba Institute for Patient Safety on several initiatives over the years. Most recently, she has served as Chair of the Working Group for the MIPS Simulation Project.
