Mr. Rene Comte
Rene Comte’s career consisted of 37 years as a health care administrator in rural Manitoba. His career began in 1967 as administrator of long term facility in Notre Dame de Lourdes and then he took on additional challenges: first in his own community as administrator of the Notre Dame Hospital and then at various stages, became Executive Director of the Swan Lake Hospital, Pembina Manitou Health Center in Manitou, Boyne Lodge and the Carman Hospital in Carman and finally St Claude Health Center.
He then became VP Planning for the Regional Health Authority in Central Region, a role he kept until his appointment as Chief Executive Director (CEO) in June 2001. Rene retired as CEO RHA-Central on December 31, 2004.
Presently, he is the Principal Advisor on French Language Services for Central Region and he works on several health related projects. Rene lives in the rural francophone community of Notre Dame de Lourdes.
