Dr. Luis Oppenheimer

Dr. Luis Oppenheimer, M.D, PhD, FRCS(C), FACS, is a Professor of Surgery and Family Medicine, University of Manitoba. Dr. Oppenheimer has over thirty years experience in clinical, academic, and administrative positions in the health care system. He has worked on varied initiatives including, for example, the development of the Masters in Surgery Programme, Patient Access and Clinical System Improvement in the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (of which he is the Provincial Director), Health Technology Assessment, and Telemedicine. He has international experience as a visiting professor and lecturer. Dr. Oppenheimer has experience on university, hospital, regional, educational, and government committees and task forces. He has been on the Board of the Manitoba Institute for Patient Safety for three years and is currently Chair, Research Committee. Dr. Oppenheimer was nominated by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Manitoba.
